Whether you’re unable to rip the bong due to your sore throat (or minor case of pneumonia) or headed on any sort of bus/train/car trip that will last more than two hours, this is definitely a time and place for edibles. You could hit up your dealer for brownies or a dispensary for the real stuff if you live in a state which permits you to do so, but not all of us are so lucky.

While a recent article in Well and Good referred to cannabis as potentially the next new superfood to be added to gourmet recipes, we know that we are college students on a budget. While it would be a dream to get high off butternut squash soup or a gluten-free cake, I know many college students that would eat a moldy sandwich off the floor if it was packed with a gram or two.

If you’re looking for an amateur, easy way to get stupid high, pass out and wake up still high, look no further than the firecracker. For a live demonstration, watch the Wisdom Teeth episode of Broad City. You won’t be sorry.

#SpoonTip: This recipe calls for weed but I used oregano because WEED IS ILLEGAL IN MOST STATES. If you live in Colorado, Washington, Oregon or Alaska, feel free to substitute weed. Don’t do drugs, kids. Unless they’re legal.

For variety, substitute Nutella for the peanut butter or switch the graham crackers out for saltines. Remember to give the firecracker time to sink in before you freak out and eat too many (trust me). Eat responsibly!

After grinding it as finely as possible, sprinkle weed onto the peanut butter on top of four out of the eight crackers. Try to keep it in an even layer towards the center of the cracker. Distribute an even amount of weed on each cracker (each cracker =

.25g or 1/4 of how much weed you are using).

Marijuana’s Incredible Versatility: Cannabis Peanut Butter

Just when you thought there wasn’t anything left cannabis could offer, it continues to impress with its sheer versatility. Most people only know cannabis for its recreational qualities, but it can also be used medicinally as an oral spray, deodorant, soap, and more. You can even use it to make peanut butter!

Peanuts are among the most popular meat alternatives due to their high protein content. Peanut butter is especially popular among vegetarians and vegans.

As if it’s not almost the perfect food already, infusing it with cannabis makes it better than ever.

Cannabis peanut butter can take on quite a few forms, so imagine infusing cannabis with virtually everything you’d make with peanut butter. This includes simple sandwiches to cannabis peanut butter cookies. Learn all about peanut butter made with cannabis, and discover all the benefits it can bring.

Why You Need Cannabis in Your Peanut Butter

The primary reason you might want to enhance your peanut butter with cannabis is because of the health benefits. Cannabis comes with a plethora of exciting benefits that everyone can enjoy, no matter what kind of person you are. Even if you’re not looking to feel a little extra euphoric, you can still add cannabis oil that uses CBD rather than THC.

CBD and THC are the two active ingredients in cannabis. THC is what offers all the psychoactive effects marijuana is known for. CBD contains none of the psychoactive effects but offers medicinal effects that are surprisingly diverse. These effects include pain relief, seizure treatment and prevention, and even anxiety and stress reduction, assuming you take appropriate doses.

It’s not uncommon for people to dislike smoking, but thanks to great ideas like marijuana in peanut butter, you can enjoy all the beneficial side effects without ever having to light up. This edible alternative opens up cannabis to a much wider audience.

Strains and Nuts: So Many Choices

When you’re mixing canna oil and peanut butter, you’ll have a lot of choices when it comes to ingredients. Not only are there numerous different and unique strains of marijuana, but there are a wide variety of nuts as well. You need to make sure you pick the appropriate strains and nuts to make cannabis peanut butter that will be delicious and useful for your unique purposes.

Marijuana strains are generally either uppers or downers. Some will get you excited and ready to go, while others will leave you wanting to sit down and relax. Then again, some strains simply bring light into the more mundane parts of life that make you appreciate everything a little bit more. Whatever your preferences, keep them in mind when deciding what effect you want to receive from the cannabis peanut butter.

Your choice of cannabis is important, but so is your choice for the type of nut. The good news is that virtually any type of nut will mask the taste of cannabis. When you choose the type of nut, you should compare the taste and nutrition value. For example, your run-of-the-mill peanut will have plenty of fats and fiber, but almonds can boost your Vitamin E, which fights inflammation.

Can Cannabis Peanut Butter Get You High?

If you’re looking for health benefits, mixing CBD with peanut butter is one of the best things you can do. However, if you want to feel the mental effect of getting high, you can always make a batch of THC-infused peanut butter instead.

Much like marijuana peanut butter made primarily with CBD infusion, THC peanut butter can have varying results based on what kind of strain you use. The concentration also plays a major role in determining how much of an effect your peanut butter will have on you. If you’re looking for a particularly euphoric experience, make sure you use cannabis oil that has a high concentration of THC in comparison to CBD.

    Cannabis Peanut Butter Recipes

You can find a wide variety of recipes for making and using marijuana peanut butter, but our favorite recipe is for cannabis peanut butter cookies. Not only is this recipe easy to follow, but you can use virtually any kind of marijuana peanut butter and still have the cookies turn out great.

    Here’s what you’ll need:

    • 1 cup of peanut butter
    • 4 tablespoons of softened cannabutter
    • ½ cup of white sugar
    • ½ cup of brown sugar
    • ½ cup of flour
    • 1 egg
    • Pinch of salt

After you have all your ingredients, take four short steps to make your peanut butter cookies.

    1. First, heat your oven to 340 degrees Fahrenheit.
    2. While the oven pre-heats, combine all your ingredients in a large bowl. Stir them together until the resulting dough is nice and smooth.
    3. Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper and separate the dough into about 15 balls. Make sure to press them down on top.
    4. Once they’re all set, pop them in the oven until the edges get a bit of color. This usually takes about 10 minutes or so. Remember to let them cool afterward and enjoy!

    Don’t Forget About Decarboxylation

You can spend hours perusing the internet for the best canna oil and peanut butter recipes out there. We’ve certainly found a lot of great options, but the best version of marijuana peanut butter will depend on what you want out of it more than anything else. While you can track down some companies that do offer pre-made THC-infused peanut butter, it might be easiest to make it yourself at home.

When making your own, remember you should not simply add your marijuana in the peanut butter. You won’t get the desired effect or taste.

First, you have to let the cannabis decarboxylate, which essentially means to bake. Simply place it in a pan for around half an hour at low temperatures, and it will be able to decarboxylate.

Now that you know the basics of cannabis infused peanut butter, you can start making your own. Marijuana offers us so much to work with that we’ll probably never run out of fun ideas for what to make with it. What do you think will come next?
