How Many Watts Do You Really Need For A Good Vape?
How many watts do you really need? It’s a question many vape users have asked themselves. With so many ways to customize and personalize your vape experience, how does someone know how many watts they actually need?
Some people start at 10 watts while others vape at over 100 watts. Typically, anything over 50 watts could be considered advanced use, though beginner equipment capable of running high power is becoming more and more common. Generally, high wattage is associated with large quantities of vapor production – more vapor may also mean more flavor, but this isn’t always the case as some flavors actually perform worse with more heat. If “cloud chasing” is for you, than the higher watts may be the way to go. To get a good flavor it is best to know your juice and know your device. Certain juices taste better at higher watts.
When making the transition from traditional cigarettes to vaping, wattage can play a role in deciding which vape device to purchase. Most smokers will (initially, at least) feel comfortable with a low-wattage device designed for the mouth-to-lung inhale style that makes vaping more closely mimic smoking.
Notable benefits of using a low-powered device include longer battery life, less juice consumption, and the ability to use smaller single-cell mods. Higher watts, though, are where it’s at for cloud chasing.
If it is your first time using a vape, feel free to contact us at Breazy.com or check out our products to see what best fits your needs. If you’re just getting into vaping, starting with a low wattage, around 7 watts may be best. Want to keep with vaping for awhile, but new to it?
Check out my personal favorite the Kanger Submox Mini C Starter Kit which gives you the option to have 7 to 50 watts of output.
One thing to keep in mind, though, is that even though a device is capable of hitting 200 watts or more doesn’t mean that most vapers will ever want to. In our experience, the vast majority of daily vape setups, despite their capabilities, never get turned up past 50 or 60 watts – much more is just wasting battery power and putting you at risk of burning your wicks or juice. As with everything vape-related, taste is subjective and you’ll have to experiment a bit to find your own perfect fit.
