The EHLE brand was formed back in the 1950s and has been creating high-quality glass instruments for over 60 years. Thomas Ehle took over the family business in 1988, and quickly shifted focus onto the high-grade glass bongs and water pipes market from the more “mainstream” creations that they had been developing over previous years. EHLE has become known for their fine, elegant designs just as much as they have for the durability of their premium-grade glass bongs for sale. All EHLE Glass bongs are made with advanced glassmaking techniques (such as computer-controlled cooling and tempering processes), while also using premium level borosilicate glass.
To ensure the brand keeps its standards high, it produces its bong and pipes in low volume, and despite the huge demand for a limited supply, the company manages to keep its prices somewhat competitive. Its glass straight cylinder bong (250 mL) is a prime example of EHLE’s superior quality – it is 12.5 inches high with a joint size of 18.8mm, and should be available for under $100 online. To be frank, pictures of this bong don’t do it justice. You have to hold it in your hand to fully appreciate the quality of craftsmanship that goes into each piece. This particular bong includes the famous EHLE glass signature, which is a logo with an orange outline. Accessories include a non-diffuser downstem and a funnel-shaped bowl, which is all you need to start smoking! It offers smooth and luxurious hits with the kind of flavor that makes you wonder how in the hell you ever lived without a quality bong . In the world of glass bongs and water pipes, EHLE is the byword for ‘quality’. You can purchase its range of bongs on the EHLE Glass official website, which should translate from German to English automatically.
Once you hold an EHLE Glass bong, you’ll know you’ve made the right decision, and the high-quality performance only confirms it. Also known as GG, Grace Glass bongs are widely sought after and the Amsterdam-based company has been in operation since 2010. At present, it has more than 300 products and they are all available directly from the firm’s warehouse. Since its formation, GG has become one of the glass paraphernalia market leaders and because of its location in the “very liberal” city of Amsterdam, the company continues to have its finger on the pulse in the world of weed and bongs. GG offers an immense number of products including water pipes, ash catchers, dab rigs, and dab tools, and you can buy a Grace Glass bong with or without a percolator. As well as upgrading old designs, the company is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of the industry and is always looking to bring new concepts to the market. Our Grace Glass review will focus on its Vapor Cane bong, which is a straight, elegant piece that’s designed for use with oils, dry herbs, or concentrates. It comes with two honeycomb disc percolators, a fixed downstem with an 18.8mm male joint, a turbine disc percolator, a glass nail, a female vapor dome, and a removable 18.8mm female herb bowl complete with roll stoppers. The honeycomb disc is responsible for breaking the smoke into a whole lot of bubbles, and as a result, the smoke is filtered and cooled as it travels up the tube. Meanwhile, the turbine disc’s blades are created at a specific angle to turn the water into a kind of vortex, which to be honest is amazing to witness (and not to mention it offers phenomenal flavor). The honeycomb disc on top forces the vapor through the tiny holes, which provide additional filtration. In the end, I was blown away by the cleanness and coolness of the hit. The Cane GG Vapor bong is 17.3 inches high and made from 5mm thick borosilicate glass, and you can choose to keep it simple by opting for the clear glass version, or you can treat yourself by going with one of the versions containing colored accents. There is no doubt about it – Grace Glass is one of the finest sellers of glass paraphernalia on the market. While you should always expect to pay for premium quality bongs, most of the GG range is available for less than $150, with some excellent items on sale for under $100. Aside from the Vapor bong, my favorite GG piece is the Spiral Perc Bong. Once again, you see the spiraling helix work its magic, which is mesmerizing. It draws in smoke as you hit it, and both of the helices funnel towards the top of the bong. As you begin your session, the bong’s top half fills up with smoke. If you love artistic looking bongs, check out the Grace Glass limited edition range for the brand’s most beautifully crafted pieces. Mountain Jam Glass is one of the oldest companies on this list, founded “way back” in the year 2000. It operates out of Eugene, Oregon, and its website proudly states that all of the company’s glass is made right there in the city. Described as a ‘glass blowers collective’, the Mountain Jam Glass company creates uniquely designed bongs, with every individual pipe made by a specific artist – all of whom are master glassblowers and work in their own space. Various artists are responsible for creating Mountain Jam glass bongs, which explains why the company produces so many unique, remarkable-looking pieces. Mountain Jam Glass is happy to sacrifice volume for quality, and it has become an extremely popular and well-respected brand in the industry. It is also dedicated to providing great customer service and is adamant that community and sustainability are prominent in its list of core values. Interestingly, the first pipe ever created was made in Eugene by a man named Bob Snodgrass. The site did not say whether this legendary lampworker has contributed anything to the company, but such is Eugene’s reputation for glass blowing that many of the best glass artists in the United States travel there to perfect their art.
(And many of them end up making pieces for the Mountain Jam Glass company). One of my favorite pieces from the company is the Mountain Jam Glass Hammer Pipe, which features some mind-blowing inside-out reversal work (did we tell you that it produced unique items!?) The Glass Hammer is a stunningly crafted piece with reversal sections at various points on the pipe (if you didn’t know, the ‘reversal glass technique’ involves creating individual color lines which all arrive at a point in the middle of the glass.
The end result is a marvelous and unique design that you won’t find anywhere else). Moreover, the teardrop-shaped mouthpiece is a joy to use and the appendage on the right side of the bowl offers superb grip, which is a necessity during a heavy session!
