The problem with brownies would probably be the mush absorbing moisture from the brownie.

You'd end up with damp nasty mushroom powder and dry brownies. -------------------- It drinks the alcohol and abstains from the weed or else it gets the hose again. Quote: akakta said: I read that until the mushroom becomes completely dry that psilocybe will break down because of oxidation. But once completely dry the psilocybe because stable and can withstand heat up to 800 degrees f and more befor breaking down. And that why you are able to make tea, grill them, and cook with them. The most they can withstand even after being dried is about 200°-250°F before the actives will break down. If you do your research you'll find that absolutely nobody grills or cooks with shrooms, even when they're dried. You can make tea with them because you don't boil the water, you simmer it. Water boils at 242°F, so obviously boiling would be overkill. Simmer temp is about 180°-200°F and once cooled a little the mushrooms are gradually mixed in and allowed to steep for about 10-20 minutes before draining. Nobody cooks with shrooms, and certainly no one bakes with them. Brownies are pretty much out of the question unless you just stuffed the mushrooms inside of them like butter inside a roll after baking them. Refer to this page for mostly tried and true ways for preparing mushrooms. Next time you have a bunch of fresh cubes, cut off the stems and set them aside for another day. Take the caps and rub a little blue cheese or ranch salad dressing into the gills. Add salt and pepper to taste, then grill outside on the bbq until done(gill side up), usually only a few minutes. when the dressing in the gills starts to boil, it's done. It's hard to beat cubes for good taste when cooked. When raw, they're nasty as hell, just like any raw mushroom.

Cook up about 50 grams of fresh caps and you'll be happy. -------------------- I t d o e s n ' t m a t t e r w h a t i t h i n k o f y o u . a l l t h a t m a t t e r s i s c l e a n s p a w n I'm tired do me a favor.

Hey Taco, I wish cooking cubes made them inert, I'd eat em everyday.. I really enjoy fresh caps grilled with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt & pepper, but I trip out every time.
