The large ceramic chamber is great for packing a good quantity of dry herb mixture. I wouldn't recommend over-filling or over-packing as this won't allow the air to circulate properly inside the oven. The Mig Vapor Matrix herb vaporizer is a combustion free device and it has a lovely digital OLED display.

This shows the current temperature and with the help of the two adjustment buttons you will be able to choose any value between 300-435F. As the pen heats up all the buttons will blink and as soon as it's ready you can start enjoying your vaporized dry herbs. To get from room temperature all the way up to 435F I counted 42s, so that's pretty efficient. However, I wouldn't recommend going that high unless you're an experienced user and are looking for big clouds. For me the ideal temperature was around 385F and here is where I also noticed the best flavor. The silicone tips really help dissipate the heat and regardless of temperature, your lips will always stay cool.

The Mig Vapor Matrix Dry Herb Vaporizer has a 5 minute cut off interval to help preserve battery and it's a thing you should watch out for if your sessions tend to get any longer. To turn the device back on you simply need to press the fire button 5 consecutive time, wait for the temperature and you're ready to go. In terms of performance, the Mig Vapor Matrix Dry Herb Vaporizer does a very good job and I have to say I was really impressed. It doesn't burn the herbal mixture, flavor is top notch and as long as you clean then chamber after each session it will always deliver an amazing experience. The device also comes with a 90 day warranty, so if anything should happen you know you have your investment covered. The Matrix Vaporizer by Mig Vapor is one of those forward-thinking devices that’s as mind-blowing as the movie it may or may not have been named after. To fit the theme, it comes in a box using coded green text like in the movie. Remember the rush the first time you saw Neo plug in and get transported to that alternate reality? This device tries to replicate that rush every time you take a hit. Mig Vapor's Matrix comes with a number of features that makes it great as both an on-the-go or stay-at-home device. Let’s dive into this device and check out if it truly does take you to another reality. The best part of this design is how it feels in your hand. Easy to grip and pocket, the Matrix also has a flat bottom - a feature we like because unlike some of its competitors it can stand up on its own. In addition to the power button, two more buttons allow for precise adjustment of temperature in conjunction with an LED-lit screen. Six vent holes provide plenty of airflow through the oversized ceramic oven, which is designed to be used with either leaf or concentrates, depending on your preference. The top mouthpiece snaps off to provide access to that heating chamber and is fitted with a screen to keep debris from flying into your mouth. Charging is via USB cable, included in the kit along with a handful of spare screens, mouthpiece covers, and a pick and brush for cleaning. A ceramic plug with included wick is used for vaping concentrates, and spare wicks are supplied to bring your oil to the wick. Keep in mind this kit doesn't come with a grinder, so you're going to have to supply that on your own. Lastly, the Matrix comes in a few different colors: red, black, or white. There's a nice Mig Vaporizer Matrix logo on front adding to the personalized feel of the design. Power to the Matrix is delivered via internal battery, with the standard five-click on/off function most vaporizers employ. When powered on, the device will automatically heat up to its maximum temperature (between 300 and 435 Fahrenheit, as selected by the user), then hold that temperature for five minutes before powering down automatically. The quality of the Matrix is largely dependent on what you’re using it for. When it comes to concentrates like oil or wax, the Matrix can be a bit of a letdown. It doesn’t hit quite as hard as we'd like, even with the temperature turned all the way up. The ceramic cartridge and wick design for concentrate gets gunked up pretty quickly, which makes cleanup and switching back and forth between dry leaf uses a pain.

Where this device really shines, however, is in dry leaf. We mentioned the oversized oven - you can pack nearly a gram of flower into the bowl at once, meaning there's plenty of capacity for group sessions without having to worry about constant reloading. Flavor and vapor production are both excellent even when the power is turned down, and the wide range of temp settings allows you to target different essences you'd like to highlight in your herbal experience. As mentioned above, while the vaporizer can be used for concentrate and leaf, it’s really only best used for flower. If you’re really into dabbing, there are better vaporizers out there that are specifically made for concentrates. However, if you’re mostly into vaporizing flower and just want the ability to occasionally dabble in dabs, this would be an excellent choice. All in all, the Matrix Vaporizer by Mig Vapor really sets the bar high for leaf vaporizers. With a portable design and good airflow and precise temperature control, this is an extremely satisfying device at an affordable price. While it may not rise to quite the same level of sophistication as something like the Pax 2 or Pax 3, this is a design that will satisfy any vaporizer lover who wants a reliable vape on some dry leaf.
