KandyPens Prism+ Review

KandyPens Prism+ Background

I’ll just come right out and say that the KandyPens Prism and Prism+ are among the best vape pens around. Yes I know that there are dozens, if not hundreds, maybe even thousands of vape pens on the market, but even so, these manage to stand out. Some of the reasons include their choice of two different atomizers and their sleek design.

The main differences between them is that the Prism+ is the thicker of the two, has a larger battery and costs more, $127.99 compared to $97.99 for the Prism. Both are available directly from KandyPens and you should use our exclusive KandyPens coupon code TVG25 for a 25% discount. You can find out which of the two options is better for you in my KandyPens Prism+ review, but I can tell you right now that you can’t go wrong with either of them.

  • One Ceramic atomizer

Their Design

The Prism (left) is slimmer than the Prism+ (right), and has a smaller battery, but is similar in every other way.

Both the Prism and the Prism+ are just about four inches tall and very light, making them both highly portable, yes, even the wider Prism+. You just have to be careful about their exposed resin mouthpieces when they’re being transported since they can get dirty if you’re not careful. They both have a smooth, stainless steel finish that looks and feels terrific. They are available in black or white finishes, both look great, but I prefer the black, it just looks like it means business, whereas the white looks a little clinical.

I also prefer the Prism because of its slimmer profile which feels better in my hand. The Prism+ feels good too, I’m sure many will prefer its thicker grip and you won’t hear me tell them that they’re wrong. They might also like the LED lights on the side that light up as they vape, a feature that the Prism lacks, however, they might dislike how those lights attract attention, so it’s a toss-up.

As with most vape pens, they use a simple one button interface that’s easy to get a hang of. They also have their USB ports on their base, this means that you can’t stand them upright while they’re charging. It does mean that you can hold them while they’re charging, which is good since pass through charging enables you to vape as they charge. Nice.

Their Performance

The dual quartz coils (left) heat up faster and produce more intense vapor than the ceramic coil (right), which delivers cooler, smoother vapor.

The Prism comes with two coils, each of which offers great, but very different, performance. The dual quartz coils heat up fast and produce big clouds and strong flavor, but might be a little too intense for newcomers. The ceramic coil produces rich, flavorful vapor that is cooler and milder than that produced by the quartz coils. Needless to say, I preferred the ceramic, the vapor felt richer and had stronger flavor notes.

They both give you four temperature selections to choose from, ranging from 320°F up to 430°F. I found the middle temperatures of 350°F and 390°F to hit the sweet spot of strong vapor and nice clouds. The higher temperature settings give you bigger clouds and harsher vapor, especially with the dual quartz coils. The resin mouthpiece helps a lot with higher temps since it helps to cool down the vapor before it reaches your mouth. It also has a splash guard so there is never any hot sputtering oil, plus it has practically no draw resistance, so inhaling the vapor is as easy as inhaling air.

The performance is the same between the Prism and Prism+, so in terms of flavor quality they are identical. The big difference—aside from size—is battery life, the Prism+ has a 900 mAh battery and the Prism has a 320 mAh battery, no guesses as to which one lasts longer. The Prism does have an edge in that it can use a lightning cable port, which gives it more charging versatility over its bigger brother. Both have pass-through capability, so you can keep vaping while they’re charging.

Four temperature settings, two different coils, amazing vapor quality. Do vape pens get better than this? Read the KandyPens Prism+ review to find out.

KandyPens Prism+

The KandyPens Prism+ a.k.a KandyPens Prism Plus is the thicker version of the KandyPens Prism. Featuring 900mAh capacity, the Prism+ supports pass-through technology and can be easily charged with a micro USB cable. The Prism+ utilizes the conduction heating method, and it has two atomizers.

The KandyPens Prism+ is an award-winning concentrate pen vaporizer. The bigger brother of the KandyPens Prism is 0.20 inches wider and has a bigger battery capacity. The American-made pen vaporizer is one of a handful of pen vaporizers that supports pass-through technology, allowing you to use the vape as it charges.

The Prism+ does not look any different than the regular Prism; they both have a casing made of electro-plated stainless steel. Other than that, they both feature one-button operation and color-coded LED as a temperature indicator. Not to mention, the Prism+ also includes two glass mouthpieces.

The Prism+ comes with two atomizers, both of the atomizers contain a silicone plug to prevent leakage.

  1. Ceramic “coil-less” atomizer with ceramic plate; This vaporizes efficiently, and no coil ensures an easy cleaning.
  2. Dual-quartz coil atomizer with a titanium wire heating element: This atomizer works better for higher temperature, it produces big clouds and requires with less time to heat up in between draws.

The KandyPens Prism+ comes with a larger battery than its predecessor, the Prism+ has almost triple the power than the OG Prism. It has an upgrade of 900mAh instead of 320mAh. The pen vaporizer charges in less than 2 hours and feature pass-through charging. Therefore, you do not have to worry about the battery.

It comes with four preset temperatures; the higher temperature produces bigger clouds while the lower temperature is good for flavor:

  • Yellow – 320°F
  • Green – [350°F
  • Red – 390°F
  • Blue – 430°F
