Firefly iOS App Update
As of 11/15/2019, Apple has removed all vaporizer-related apps from its App Store. This has impacted all vaporizer brands, including Firefly. The Firefly app remains available on Google Play for Android devices. While Apple’s decision is concerning, it’s important to note that the Firefly Vapor app is not necessary to operate the device itself.
For those who have already downloaded the Firefly Vapor app to their iOS devices, there is no immediate impact. You can continue to use the Firefly app as before with your existing or new devices (however, for the time being, there will be no updates to the app).
The temperature can also be controlled directly without the app on ALL Firefly 2+ devices, with 7 pre-set temperatures ranging from 320 to 500°F. This also applies to all Firefly 2 devices with firmware version 3.26 or newer (the latest version is 3.33). You can find video instructions to change the temperature on our YouTube channel. Battery charge level is also available on the device itself. If you need assistance updating the firmware on your device, you can contact us by phone or email.
Apple’s current choice to remove vaporization apps is understandable in the prevailing climate, and we hope they will join regulators in continuing to evaluate vaporization issues and benefits to inform policy and standards in the long-term. We’ll continue to work with Apple, with the intention of eventual restoration of apps for high-quality vaporizers like the Firefly 2+ to the App Store.
Customer safety has always been the #1 priority at Firefly, including using best-in-class premium materials and a comprehensive array of thermal and electrical fail-safes in the manufacturing of our products. Of course, with the Firefly 2+ and Firefly 2 devices, you are in control of the material that you use with your device, whether that is whole flower cannabis or an extract.
Regardless of the recent decision by Apple, we remain committed to delivering the Firefly experience you’ve come to know and trust, with or without an app. Stay tuned for updates. As of 11/15/2019, Apple has removed all vaporizer-related apps from its App Store, including Firefly.
